David Greene directs this adaptation of the novel by Alexandre Dumas in which Richard Chamberlain stars as Edmond Dantes, an innocent man who is imprisoned on an island after being falsely accused of helping the exiled Napoleon. After 15 years of hardship, he makes his escape and proceeds to take revenge on the people who framed him. The cast also includes Tony Curtis, Donald Pleasence and Trevor Howard.
